Transmittal 6 is effective for cost reporting periods ending on or after June 30, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>The transmittal is available at the CMS website:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cms.gov\/Regulations-and-Guidance\/Guidance\/Transmittals\/2014-Transmittals-Items\/R6P240.html\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.cms.gov\/Regulations-and-Guidance\/Guidance\/Transmittals\/2014-Transmittals-Items\/R6P240.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Major Medicare provisions incorporated by Transmittal 6 include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Medicaid managed care discharges will be reported on Worksheet S-3, line 2, column 14.<\/li>\n<li>Changes were made to Worksheet S-2 and Worksheet D-4 eliminating the \u201cother\u201d organ transplant category from the Worksheets and \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 check box selections.<\/li>\n<li>Worksheets S-2, D Part III, D Part IV and E-3 Part V,\u00a0 were clarified to address new children\u2019s and new cancer hospitals.\u00a0 A new TEFRA provider will be reimbursed as \u201cOther\u201d in its first year prior to the establishment of a TARGET rate.<\/li>\n<li>CMS modified the calculation of teaching physician\u00a0costs on the Worksheet D-5 by adding Parts III and IV.\u00a0 Parts III and\u00a0 IV will replace the previous Worksheet D-5, Parts I and II and will apply\u00a0 the RCE calculations to the teaching physician salaries, similar to the\u00a0methodology used on Worksheet A-8-2.<\/li>\n<li>Worksheet E, Part A and the Exhibit 4 instructions were\u00a0modified to address the extension of the MDH designation and Low Volume Adjustment, through March 31, 2015.<\/li>\n<li>Line 41.01 was added to Worksheet E, Part A, to report\u00a0ESRD Medicare covered and paid discharges.\u00a0 While line 41 (ESRD\u00a0Medicare Discharges) will be retained and used to compute the 10% \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 qualifying criteria for the ESDR additional payment, line 41.01 will be\u00a0used to compute the actual adjustment amount.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>HFS is currently programming the software changes for transmittal 6 and anticipates approval in the near future.
